2020 H.O.T.T. Scholarship Application Instructions
The “H.O.T.T.” is an organization of people working together to help the Emporia Community. The organization was established in 1998.
As a result of fundraising activities and donations from community businesses, a scholarship fund has been established by the Emporia Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow. College scholarships are awarded to deserving Hispanics students who exemplify involvement in school, church, and community.
APPLICATION EXTENDED DEADLINE: THURSDAY, April 30, 2020
The HOTT Scholarship is open to ALL Hispanic students (with at least one parent of being Hispanic parentage), and applicants must have applied for full-time status as a student at an accredited college, university, junior college, and technical college and meet all admission requirements of the school selected. Must have attended EHS full time for 3 years. Must have a 2.5 GPA.
Students will be paid in a form of one check made payable to the school on August 1st. Awards may be used to pay for tuition, required fees, books, and other related educational expenses. Scholarships will be awarded for Fall semester only.
The Scholarship committee will review all applications and recommend recipients to the board for approval by April. Recipients will be notified of their selection following approval.
It will be MANDATORY that recipients attend the annual scholarship recognition. Students not attending will forfeit scholarship funds awarded to that individual. Scholarships awarded on July 11th at Cinco de Mayo 1:00 pm. Dress up for group picture!
Recipients are required to notify the committee of changes of address, school enrollment or other relevant information, prior to the payment mail date August 1st and in writing. Not doing so can delay payment.
- Open and complete the online scholarship application form.
- Complete brief essay as requested in the application form.
- Furnish Emporia High School teacher recommendations emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Obtaining Rank and GPA (take to guidance office for GPA/RANK) and a transcript
- Required: After completing the online form, email a picture of yourself to email@example.com
- Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
